Join us in a heartfelt conversation with Abbie, the visionary co-founder of Move Pilates Teacher Training Academy, as she shares her journey, insights, and the profound impact of confidence on women's empowerment.
Q1: How has your journey as a woman in the fitness industry influenced your approach to Pilates instruction and teacher training?
My journey as a woman in the fitness industry has profoundly shaped my approach to Pilates instruction and teacher training. I believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where women feel empowered to embrace their strengths and capabilities. My experiences have taught me the importance of tailoring Pilates sessions to meet individual needs, fostering a sense of community, and cultivating confidence in my students. By prioritising personalised instruction and emphasising the mind-body connection, I aim to empower women to unlock their full potential both on and off the mat.
Q2: International Women's Day is a time to celebrate achievements and reflect on progress. What are some key moments in your journey that you would like to share?
Reflecting on my journey, there have been numerous pivotal moments that have shaped who I am today. From overcoming challenges and setbacks to celebrating milestones and achievements, each experience has contributed to my growth and resilience. One standout moment was establishing the Move Pilates Teacher Training Academy, where I had the opportunity to inspire and mentor aspiring Pilates instructors. Witnessing their transformation and passion for empowering others has been incredibly rewarding and reinforces the importance of paying it forward.
Q3: Women often juggle multiple roles in their personal and professional lives. How do you maintain a balance, and what advice do you have for women striving for a harmonious work-life balance?
Balancing multiple roles as a woman can undoubtedly be challenging, but it's essential to prioritise self-care and set boundaries. Personally, I strive to maintain balance by practising mindfulness, staying organised, and delegating tasks when necessary. Additionally, surrounding myself with a supportive network of family, friends, and colleagues has been invaluable in navigating the demands of both my personal and professional life. My advice for women striving for a harmonious work-life balance is to embrace imperfection, prioritise what truly matters, and remember to carve out time for self-care and fulfilment.
Q4: Do you have any advice for women who are wanting to start their career in pilates?
For women aspiring to start a career in Pilates, my advice is to follow your passion, invest in quality education, and cultivate a growth mindset. Pursuing certification from reputable training programs, such as the Move Pilates Teacher Training Academy, will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field. Additionally, seek mentorship from experienced instructors, network within the Pilates community, and never stop learning and refining your craft. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, stay true to your unique voice and teaching style, and above all, believe in yourself and the transformative power of Pilates.
